SPECIALIZATION:  forest vegetation ecology.  Research interests:  quantitative analysis of vegetation data; forest stand structure/dynamics; ecology of forest mosses.  Ongoing research:  mapping the forest flora of Ontario in order to develop maps of plant species ranges and abundance patterns; use of indicator species of local environmental features; effects of deer browsing on understorey forest vegetation and forest regeneration.
